Charity Program with Pediatric Ward, Penang Hospital
Penang Bridge with collaboration of Penang Hospital had organized a Charity Program at Pediatric Ward since year 2005. We have developed reading corners at the Pediatric Ward for the children so that they can spend their time meaningfully by reading books. Penang Bridge continues supplying reading materials especially collection of children’s story books, keep up the reading corners and other gifts to the Pediatric Ward yearly.
“Ambang Merdeka” Celebration
Every year on 31 August - Malaysia Independent Day, Penang Bridge joins Malaysian in celebrating the National Day by distributing Malaysia flag to the bridge users. The main objective of this activity is to remind citizen especially the younger generation the struggle and hardship of Malaysian forefather to fight for independent. Other objective is to instill the feeling of appreciation among Malaysian on the harmony and peaceful live that they enjoy in the country since independent.
Blood Donation Campaign
Penang Bridge has organizes Blood Donation Campaign with cooperation of Pathology Unit of Seberang Jaya Hospital since March 2008. This program is part of our continuous charity effort in highlighting the value of blood in saving the life of others. This program will assist in increasing the willingness to help and appreciation of live and inspire the staffs of Penang Bridge, UEM Builders subsidiary companies and general public to come forward to donate their blood.
PINTAR Educational Visit to Penang Bridge
In supporting the UEM Builders Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Penang Bridge has organized a program called ‘PINTAR Education Visit to Penang Bridge’. The students from various school under the PINTAR* Program were introduce to Penang Bridge business, activities that has been carried out at the site, facilities and its ancillaries. Apart from this, the students were taken for a boat ride to visit the Penang Bridge widening project. This program will expose the students on the real infrastructure development that was build for their future and some safety tips while travelling.
Penang Bridge@ Bubur Lambuk.Ramadhan
PBSB organized a program called ‘Penang Bridge@Bubur Lambuk.Ramadhan as part of its CSR activities with the bridge user on 19 September 2008 in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan. The distribution of 2,000 packets ‘bubur lambuk’ and mineral water took place at Penang Bridge Toll Plaza from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm and led by Chief Operating Officer, Puan Suhaina Baharudin. Some 30 staff of PBSB involved in ‘gotong-royong,’ to cook and pack four giant pots of ‘bubur lambuk’ since 8.30am.
